Ethics and professional conduct

The International Review of Economic and Social Sciences (RISES), initially published by Éditions L'Harmattan (Issues 1, 2, and 3) and subsequently by Éditions des Archives Contemporaines (EAC) and Presses Universitaires de Ziguinchor (PUZ), has a code of ethics and professional conduct. In addition to the guidelines for authors and its publication protocols, it wishes to reiterate some key points of its ethical and professional conduct policy:
1. Scientific Integrity and Originality
1.1 Plagiarism and Originality: Authors must guarantee that their manuscripts are original and have not been published elsewhere.
1.2 Data Rigor: Articles must be based on verifiable data. The use of tables and illustrations must be rigorously sourced and numbered according to specific standards (Roman numerals for tables, Arabic numerals for diagrams).

1.3 Artificial intelligence: Articles must not be generated by artificial intelligence but based on empirical studies.

2. Authors' Obligations
2.1 Exclusivity: Authors agree not to submit their article to another journal while the RISES review process is underway.
2.2 Typographical Conformity: Strict adherence to French typography and citation standards is required to ensure clarity and intellectual honesty.
2.3 Transparency: Authors must disclose their funding sources and any potential conflicts of interest.
3. Review Process
3.1 Review Committee: The journal uses peer review to guarantee the scientific quality of multidisciplinary contributions from various continents (Africa, Europe, America, Asia).
3.2 Objectivity: Reviewers are required to judge manuscripts solely on their academic merit, without discrimination based on race, gender, or institutional affiliation.
4. References and International Standards
While specific to its field, RISES generally adheres to international standards such as those of COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics), which govern the handling of professional misconduct and retractions.
